Cardiovascular Diabetology

Cardiovascular diabetelogy refers to the condition, wherein people with diabetes develop cardiac disorders.  Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose either because insulin production is deficient or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin or both. Diabetes is treatable, but heart disease and stroke can occur even when the blood glucose level is at normal. That's because people with diabetes, particularly type 2 diabetes, that contribute to their risk for developing cardiovascular disease. Patients with diabetes may avoid or delay the development of heart and blood vessel disease by managing risk factors such as hypertension, abnormal cholesterol, obesity and lack of physical activity which contribute more towards cardiac diabetes.
